The World Area Book Awards is a collaboration between university book award programs sponsored by universities with centers that research and teach world areas. This site provides information and resources on the book award program funded in part by the U.S. Department of Education Title VI National Resource Centers. The National Resource Center (NRC) Program of the U.S. Department of Education provides grants to American universities to establish, strengthen, and operate language and area or international studies centers that will be national resources for teaching any modern foreign language and world affairs.
